Going Wild: Going Birdy

Section 1 (Going Beasty): Bobcats, and coyotes, and …snakes? Oh my! In this section we will be looking at all things furry and scaly. Learn which mammals and reptiles can be found in Louisiana, and how we safely look for and learn about them. How is deer scat different from rabbit or raccoon scat? Where can we find snakes and lizards? Why did the turtle cross the road? What traits make for a good predator, and what traits help hide from them? Come join us and find out.

Section 2 (Going Buggy): For the budding entomologist! This section focuses on our small (and sometimes not so small) invertebrate friends. What is the difference between a beetle and a butterfly? Are millipedes or roly polies ACTUALLY bugs? Do mosquitos deserve all the hate? How do we safely look at something when it is so small and squishy? Learn what makes a bug a bug, its role in the world, how to best observe them, and more!
